Every three years, in the small Belgian city of Ypres, locals dress up in Papier-mâché cat heads and other forms of feline-inspired attire to celebrate the 'Kattenstoet' ('Festival of the Cats'). A tradition since 1955, it's linked - rather bleakly - to legends about cats once being thrown from a bell tower, the reasoning for which is still subject to speculation... TfL, the local authority in charge of most of London's transport network, says it is owed millions in unpaid congestion fee charges from countries around the world. The top "culprit" is the US embassy which currently owes more than £14 million in charges which have remained unpaid since 2003, when the charge was first introduced. Uber drivers in London without electric vehicles (EV) will receive a £5,000 grant to help them switch to an EV — new or used — in a bid to boost electrification, the company announced today (May 20). The multinational transportation company partnered with bp Pulse to support drivers with free charging and is offering additional £12,000 to £17,000 to be used when purchasing a range of EV vehicles.
