It's a small but loud faction, drawing the support of many young voters. It’s also the only group on the left of the political spectrum that is expected to gain seats. Lucilla Sioli, currently Director for AI and Digital Industry within the European Commission and an EU official since 1997, will formally lead the AI Office, the EU executive announced today (29 May). The Council of Europe agreed on a treaty on artificial intelligence (AI) on Friday, claiming it is the first binding international treaty on the technology.
