Recent statements by French President Emmanuel Macron and UK Foreign Secretary David Cameron about the war in Ukraine are “dangerous” and will deepen international tension around the conflict, the Kremlin’s spokesman said on Friday. In an interview published on Thursday, Macron repeated an earlier comment that he doesn’t rule out sending troops to Ukraine. Cameron, meanwhile, said during a visit to Kyiv the same day that Ukraine will be able to use British long-range weapons to strike targets inside Russia - a possibility that some other NATO countries providing weapons have balked at. Russia has started evacuating 9,000 children from a border region because it is being shelled continuously by Ukraine, an official said on Friday, reflecting Kyiv’s increasing focus on striking targets behind a front line that has barely shifted in recent months. The UN aid coordination office (OCHA) says mine action partners are now “carrying out assessments of explosive threats” and educating Gazans about the dangers. It adds, however, that “response efforts have been hampered by restrictions on the import of humanitarian mine action supp...
