Former Georgia tight end Brock Bowers was one of the biggest mysteries heading into the 2024 NFL Draft. Not because of his talent, but because of his position and the uniqueness of this year’s draft class, as many were curious about where one of the top prospects would land in the first round. The Las Vegas Raiders selected Bowers with the No. 13 overall pick in the draft following an unprecedented run of quarterbacks being selected within the top 12 picks. And ahead of rookie minicamp, Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce spoke about what makes Bowers special and what he brings to Las Vegas. “I ...

Brock Bowers is no stranger to a two tight end system. He spent the entirety of his Georgia career playing alongside another talent option. Whether that be Darnell Washington, John FitzPatrick or Oscar Delp, the presence of another big body in the passing game opened things up for Bowers. Off to the NFL after being selected 13th overall by the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday night, Bowers will once again be in a two tight end system. The Raiders spent the No. 35 overall pick last year on Notre Dame tight end Michael Mayer after his outstanding collegiate career in South Bend. Instead of competin...

The NFL Draft is just moments away, and Georgia tight end Brock Bowers is likely to come off the board early. How early? That remains to be seen, but the ESPN College GameDay crew that got to know him as a player over the last few years – now including former Alabama coach Nick Saban – couldn’t help but rave about him. “There are three players who we played the last couple of years that were the most difficult players to play against: Jayden Daniels, Malik Nabers and Brock Bowers. Those three guys made a significant impact on the game more than anybody else we played against,” Saban said. “The...

Jim Harbaugh is back in charge of a team in the National Football League and will be helping to make pick for the LA Chargers in the 2024 NFL Draft. However, with his approach, Joel Klatt doesn’t think it’s much of a secret of how he’s going to approach their selections. Klatt assessed how Harbaugh and the Chargers should play the draft on Monday during his show where he released his final mock draft. In that projection, he had Los Angeles being the team to make a deal with Minnesota by trading No. 5, which became Michigan QB J.J. McCarthy, for Nos. 11 and 23. That meant, at 11th overall, he h...

On First Take Thursday morning ahead of the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft that evening, analyst Dan Orlovsky joined to explain why Georgia has two players on the offensive ball he’d love to take in the first round. Orlovsky was asked to produce a few sleeper selections for the first round who could be surprise selections when they do come off the board. He went with some playmakers out of Athens, starting with the Dawgs’ top wideout: “I’m going to Georgia for two different guys. No. 1, Ladd McConkey. I think this is such a deep wide receiver class, but I think he’s got a lot of nuance to h...

Few programs have been better at putting players into the NFL during the Kirby Smart era than Georgia, and this year’s draft is no different. Brock Bowers, Amarius Mims and Ladd McConkey are likely to go early. There’s the mid-round guys like Kamari Lassiter, Javon Bullard and Tykee Smith and the late-round steals like Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint, Sedrick Van Pran and a pair of running backs – Kendall Milton and Daijun Edwards. Looking to hit double-digits for a third consecutive year, the Bulldogs sent 11 to the NFL Combine earlier in the process. A couple more worked out at UGA’s Pro Day. To pre...
