The Germany-born Patitz was among a handful of women of the era whose looks and style catapulted them to a global fame that transcended modelling. New York (AFP) - US actress Lisa Banes, best known for her role in the movie "Gone Girl," has died 10 days after a hit-and-run by a scooter or motorbike in New York, a police spokesman said Tuesday. The 65-year-old TV, Broadway and film actress was pronounced dead Monday after suffering a head trauma in the accident in Manhattan, the New York Police Department spokesman told AFP. Los Angeles (AFP) - Anne Douglas, a philanthropist and widow of Hollywood legend Kirk Douglas, died Thursday at her home in Beverly Hills, her family said. She was 102. Kirk Douglas, who died in February 2020 at the age of 103, met his future wife in Paris in 1953, while filming "Act of Love." After a whirlwind courtship, the couple got married in Las Vegas on May 29, 1954. Rome (AFP) - Italian sculptor Arturo Di Modica, who created the famous "Charging Bull" statue which has become a symbol of New York's Wall Street, died overnight at the age of 80, Italian media reported Saturday.
