British artist Damien Hirst is once again accused of falsifying the age of his artworks. An investigation by The Guardian has claimed that at least 1,000 of the 10,000 paintings used in Hirst’s 2022 project ‘The Currency’ were created at a later date than originally suggested. In 2022, Hirst made headlines with ‘The Currency’, an experimental art project where the artist sold 10,000 of his paintings to buyers who could choose whether they would rather receive the works in physical or NFT form. Any paintings that were bought in NFT form were then burnt at an event held in October 2022. In total...

When the Nazis decided to wade into the Spanish Civil War in 1937 in support of their fascist ally Francisco Franco, they did so by dropping bombs indiscriminately on the Basque town of Guernica. No distinction was made by those flying overhead between civilians and militants: many hundreds died, most of them women and children. It was a bitter foretaste of what was to come. In the years which followed, civilian bombing became a hallmark of the changing face of modern warfare, the term blitzkrieg soon entering international parlance. German photographer Boris Eldagsen admitted that his first prize-winning photograph ‘The Electrician’ was actually an AI-generated image. Eldagsen had created the image using the popular AI-image creating tool DALL-E 2. He turned down the prize, citing his motivation for entering to see if “competitions are prepared for AI images. They are not.” A year on from his famous refusal, the Palmer Gallery in London is hosting an exhibition of his and ot...
