Former Foreigner bassist Rick Wills has expressed confusion regarding the band’s long wait to get into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Foreigner will finally be inducted later this year, but they’ve been eligible for the Hall since 2003. During a conversation with Sirius XM’s Eddie Trunk, Wills admitted it was frustrating seeing his band constantly get overlooked. “We’ve waited basically 21 years for this to happen,” the rocker noted. “So when it did happen, it was a surprise in a sense. But it was also a relief that we finally could join our peers in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame because I thi...

According to Lou Gramm, Foreigner will only have time to play one song during their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction – and he says the wrong track has been chosen. What Lou Gramm Thinks Foreigner Will Play at Rock Hall InductionDuring a new Rolling Stone interview, it was suggested to Gramm that bands often get a three-song set during induction into the Rock Hall. But the singer revealed that the time allotment will likely cut down. “Here’s the thing. I was first told we could play two. I was told we had 12 minutes to play. And I heard there’s going to be a segment of the introduction wher...

If not for a missed royalty check, Rick Wills might not have heard about tryouts for Foreigner. He collected a whopping $35,000 stipend for co-writing Peter Frampton‘s “Do You Feel Like We Do,” secured the job with Foreigner and left years later as their longest-serving bassist. Both Foreigner and Frampton are now going into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. “I was hoping they would get in, too,” Frampton told Billboard. “I figured they would, but you never know, so I’m thrilled.” With Frampton, Wills appeared on 1972’s Wind of Change, 1973’s Frampton’s Camel and 1974’s Somethin’s Happening. He al...

Foreigner leader Mick Jones has reacted to his band’s selection into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, noting that the honor is especially meaningful given how long they’ve had to wait. “I think it means more to me now than perhaps 20 years ago,” Jones explained to Billboard. “I’ve had a great career, and this is like the whipped cream and cherry on top. It’s something I will savor over the years. It’s a great honor to be included amongst all these great artists that have been inducted over the years.” Rick Wills, Foreigner’s bassist from 1979-1993, also expressed his excitement to Billboard. “We’...

Former Foreigner singer Lou Gramm admitted he still holds a grudge towards Mick Jones over the disputed songwriting credits on their hit song “I Want to Know What Love Is.” “It’s very difficult, because we worked our tails off together, writing most of those songs,” Gramm explained during an interview with VPR Rocks. “And I think we were the focal part of the band too, so the live show was very important and stuff. And I thought we had a very good friendship during most of those years. But after that ‘I Want To Know What Love Is’ [disagreement over songwriting credits] happened, it was differe...
