Europe needs to embrace pragmatism to remain relevant in the Global South
It’s an open secret that Western diplomacy is not having its best days in the Global South. When it came to the UN to condemn Russia in 2022, most countries that abstained were in the Global South — and very much in line with public opinion: polling at the time suggested only 45% of the public would have supported any overly bullish condemnation of Russia.
