For the second consecutive season, Purdue will travel to take part in a premier preseason exhibition. After playing in a charity game last year at Arkansas, the Boilermakers will play this fall at Creighton Oct. 26, GoldandBlack.com has learned. As was the case with the Arkansas exhibition, proceeds are expected to benefit tornado-relief initiatives. Results of preseason exhibition games do not count toward a team’s record or postseason résumé, but coaches — Matt Painter among them — generally see ample value in the experience, especially when playing on the road, in addition to benefiting a c...

This might come across as borderline boring, but ask Myles Colvin and Camden Heide about one of their top priorities during Purdue’s summer workouts and here’s the answer. Ballhandling. You have to dribble before shooting. It’s fundamental work. It’s tedious, but it’s a necessary skill to ignite the deep 3-pointers, the spectacular dunks off alley-oop passes from Braden Smith, and generating athletic plays in transition. Those highlight reels – 3-pointers, dunks, and fastbreak points – helped define the first seasons for Colvin and Heide, but it’s the basic plays that will lead to more minutes...

That he came along at a time when the Boilermakers would need ball-handling guards and a bit of additional toughness, perhaps, made Harris the right recruit at the ri...
