Richard Tandy has died at the age of 76. The musician was best known for having been the keyboardist of the Electric Light Orchestra alongside songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jeff Lynne but it was announced on Wednesday (01.05.24) evening that he had passed away. When Jeff Lynne joined Roy Wood’s British band the Move in 1970, it was with the condition that the group blend their basic rock moves with classical music, in a nod to Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.
