Lamar Jackson finished the 2023 NFL season hoisting the league’s MVP trophy for the second time in his career. Jackson tallied a career-high 3,678 passing yards and 24 touchdowns while only throwing seven interceptions. He completed 307-of-his-457 (67.2%) pass attempts last season as well. Still, this isn’t enough for NFL analyst Nick Wright to slot the Baltimore Ravens quarterback in his top-five QB list. His list consisted of the following: Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, CJ Stroud — and a surprising fifth choice. “I would probably go Caleb [Williams], but if you guys don’t want me ...

With dazzling quarterback Lamar Jackson leading the way, the Ravens were one of the best teams in the NFL last season. They fell just short of the Super Bowl. Yet when the league released its schedule for 2024, there were few prime-time games set for The Bank. Every team loves the big games at their place. Ravens coach John Harbaugh is one of them. The pre-game shows go on for hours. Darkness falls and the stadium lights go bright, whether it’s Thursday, Sunday or Monday nights. It’s a big, football party as the country checks the action from your stadium. This coming season, the Ravens are on...

It’s late May. And there’s nothing much Steelers fans can do right now other than ruminate over stuff like win totals. In spite of some big-time signings in the off season, one analytics expert isn’t optimistic on Pittsburgh making the playoffs. Cynthia Frelund, an analytics expert at NFL Network, delved deep into the schedules of all 32 teams. The league released them this week. Then she studied all personnel, including the draft choices, who gathered for rookie camps earlier this month. Then she came up with a ranking based on her win projections. The top seven teams in each conference make ...

The Steelers took one look at the official schedule released Wednesday night and probably winced. There’s nothing anyone can do but play the games each week. But it’s going to be difficult. In fact, a writer for NFL.com ranked the Steelers’ schedule as the toughest in the NFL. Of course, this is as of mid-May. All sorts of issues can cut the collective legs off a team. For example, no one figured last year’s Bengals wouldn’t make the playoffs. But then Joe Burrow got hurt. Twice. Gennaro Filice, a deputy editor of NFL.com, ranked the Pittsburgh schedule as the most difficult, ahead of other te...

About that new schedule Steelers fans. The NFL announced all the games and locations Wednesday night. But after the sheer excitement of it all, reality set in. This slate is backloaded for the end of the season. It’s hard. In fact, based on how teams finished last season, the Steelers face the third toughest strength of schedule behind only Cleveland and Baltimore. (We’re sensing an AFC North theme). Of course, the strength of schedule will change once teams actually start playing games this fall. Maybe Steelers president Art Rooney II summarized it the best. “It’s probably not exactly how I w...

The Cincinnati Bengals are celebrating today because, after months away in recovery, star quarterback Joe Burrow is finally back. Burrow hit the field with the team on Monday for workouts following his six-month recovery from wrist surgery. Burrow suffered a torn scapholunate ligament on his throwing hand on November 16 which required surgery. The former LSU star’s recovery timeline had a mid-May goal for his return to the field, so it’s great news for the Bengals that he’s back this week. The team’s social media pages shared clips of the franchise quarterback arriving for the day of work in a...
