Skier Kyle Smaine dies in accident aged 31
Kyle Smaine has died at the age of 31. The pro skier - who won a gold medal in halfpipe at the FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboarding World Championships 2015 - was killed in an avalanche while skiing in Japan, with action sports photographer Grant Gunderson taking to social media on Sunday (29.01.23) to describe the "nightmare" scene.
