France's Macron calls for new, 'more responsible' Mercosur trade deal
French President Emmanuel Macron on Wednesday emphatically rejected the planned free trade agreement between the European Union and the South American economic alliance Mercosur in its current form during a visit to Brazil. "As it stands, it is a very bad agreement. This agreement was negotiated 20 years ago. This is not what we want," Macron said, speaking in São Paulo.
