Another guest could tell the pair of Rolling Stones were celebrities but didn’t know who they were, so asked Jagger to offer a “glimmer” of a clue to their identities. The footage from Catching Fire: The Story of Anita Pallenberg is accompanied by notes from her memoirs, which were left unpublishe...

Liam Neeson’s The Naked Gun has its leading lady: Pamela Anderson. It’s maybe an off-kilter pick, but it’s fitting for the franchise, a spoof of old cop movies and TV shows that began as the short-lived television series Police Squad! and then became the hit trilogy of films The Naked Gun. Leslie Nielsen played bumbling LA cop Frank Drebin in the show and the movies. According to The Hollywood Reporter, while “plot details [for the remake] are being locked away with other police files … it is known that Neeson is playing Drebin.” Anderson is the film’s main love interest. The Breakfast Club, which premiered in Los Angeles on Feb. 7, 1985, may be the finest movie about American high school life ever made. Regarded as one of the seminal films of the ’80s, John Hughes‘ movie is a compendium of the anxieties, confusion and joys of teenage existence. It made Hughes a star, and he’d go on to write or direct other classics like Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Home Alone, and Planes, Trains and Automobiles. It also helped launch the careers of Molly Ringwald, Emilio Estevez, Anthony Michael Hall, Judd Nelson and Ally Sheedy. The film’s most lasting effect was to create a tem...

You’d be a fool to think Ghostbusters wasn’t going to succeed when it hit theaters in 1984. Stars Dan Aykroyd and Bill Murray were Saturday Night Live veterans who found big screen success in films like The Blues Brothers and Stripes, while co-stars Harold Ramis (who wrote the film with Aykroyd) and Rick Moranis were veterans of Canadian sketch show SCTV. And the concept – man-child misfits go into business as paranormal exterminators and take New York City by storm – sounded great on paper. But Ghostbusters had even more cultural appeal than expected. The film was not only the biggest of 1984...
