While other teams would have let the waiver issue get in their heads, Jeff Gordon didn’t see that from the No. 5 team. Kyle Larson never let the NASCAR decision cloud his judgment or upset him too much. Before this week began, Larson didn’t know if he would be playoff-eligible this season. Now, he’s not only eligible, but he has his third win of the year and is ready to do more by the looks of it. Together with Cliff Daniels, Larson has the car, strategy, and the talent to win anywhere at any time. Jeff Gordon was happy to see the whole team come together for the win and never saw them “waver,...

Kyle Busch is speaking out on his incident with Ross Chastain during the final lap at the NASCAR Cup Series race at Sonoma. While speaking with Bob Pockrass of Fox Sports, Busch said that his day was “ruined” because of Chastain spinning him out of a potential top-five finish. “A couple of guys there at the end of the race had better tires than we did but we were going to have a good day,” Busch said. “Unfortunately, one of those guys got into us on the last lap and ruined our day. It’s frustrating to not get the finish that we deserved.” This has been one of the few tough moments for Busch th...

While speaking with Frontstretch, the 43-year-old driver expressed his frustration with running out of gas after coming close to a P2 finish. “It stinks. We worked hard all day to have a good finish and clearly in second,” Truex said, “run out of gas in the last corner. I don’t know. It’s one of them years.” Truex’s crew chief, James Small also shared his thoughts on the incident. He told Frontstretch, “I thought we were at least half a lap,” until they had to concern themsel...

Don’t ask Kyle Larson about strategies, all he does is drive the car. The driver talked about his lack of knowledge after his big Sonoma win. Then again, when you have Cliff Daniels on the pit box, you don’t need to worry about strategy as a NASCAR driver. Crew chiefs and drivers each have their own quirks and tasks on race day. Some drivers like to know more about the car than others, and there are some who even like to weigh in on how the cars are set up. That is not how Kyle Larson operates. It is his job to drive and listen to Cliff Daniels, not do the math in his own head. “Yeah I was, I ...

On the last lap of the Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Sonoma, Kyle Busch was sent spinning around by Ross Chastain. Chastain claims one thing, but the video from NASCAR might show something else entirely. When Ross Chastain gets into another driver it is always pointed out as his fault. It was so common that it was dubbed being “Chastain’d.” It’s what happens when the No. 1 car doors you out of nowhere. Chastain and Busch were racing for a top-5 finishing spot. Chastain overdrove a corner and locked up his brakes, Busch went off the track. This is a developing story… The post Ross Chastain spins Kyle...

Kyle Larson won the NASCAR Cup Series race at Sonoma on Sunday and played a little prank on his mom in the process. After the race, Larson’s mom took a video of her son and waved at him as he was driving to victory lane. Larson responded by blasting noise from his car, which led to his mom jumping up and covering her ears. Larson was happy about winning his 26th career Cup Series race after an interesting week. The victory comes after NASCAR announced he will receive a playoff waiver after missing the Coca-Cola 600 last month. “I think there’s relief on my end even though I wasn’t really payin...

Today at Sonoma it was an up and down race. However, through the chaos and smoke, Kyle Larson came through victorious. The NASCAR champion battled it out with Martin Truex Jr. at the end and was able to claim his third victory of the season. Kyle Larson took damage in qualifying trying to squeeze as much speed as possible from his car. It wasn’t that big of a deal with just a wrap repair needed before race day. Today, Larson played the pit strategy perfectly under Cliff Daniels’ direction. He did what he was asked and it resulted in a big win. Another win with Valvoline, too. Stage 1 goes to T...

AJ Allmendinger isn’t exactly thrilled with how Kyle Larson raced him during Sunday’s Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway. Allmendinger took exception to Larson bumping him throughout the race, which has apparently knocked out his rear tires. He went scorched Earth on Larson while speaking with his team over the radio, according to Davey Segal of SiriusXM NASCAR Radio. “No rear tires left, f*cking Kyle [Larson],” Allmendinger said. Allmendinger was one of many cars Larson passed during the final stage of the race after he got fresh tires from his last green flag pit stop. Larson has since r...
