The five Huskers competed in a dunk contest, getting a chance to put down one dunk over each of two rounds before crowd noise determined a pair of finalists. The contestants were defensive lineman Kai Wallin, running back Emmett Johnson, defensive back Jeremiah Charles, tight end Thomas Fidone and quarterback Heinrich Haarberg. Wallin and Johnson both completed a windmill in round one and missed their attempts in round two. Haarberg threw an alley-oop to himself off ...

The transfer portal is open and movement across the collegiate landscape is heavy. For Nebraska football, there are plenty of areas of need in both retention as well as acquisition during this offseason. The Huskers went 5-7 in 2023 and missed a seventh consecutive bowl season. Head coach Matt Rhule has a positive approach to the portal. "I honestly don’t see any of it as stressful," Rhule told reporters back on Nov. 20. "I 100 percent am in this position to help young people say they had a better life because they played for me, that’s 100 percent why I do it." Rhule has a couple criteria he ...

When Nebraska football coach Matt Rhule met with the media Wednesday, the majority of the questions revolved around reflecting on the season and where things go from here. But when a question was asked about a couple sophomores who walked on Senior Day last week, the stage was set. "Ty (Hahn) has got his degree," Rhule began. "He's engaged. He's going back home to farm with his dad." Note: Hahn just completed his sophomore year of eligibility but has spent four seasons in Lincoln with one season not counting due to the COVID-19 pandemic and another being a redshirt year. Upon hearing the news,...

Many men have tried and failed. Countless troops in white helmets with the red "N." Three – perhaps soon to be four – captains of that Big Red ship have found it to be quite elusive. Riley. Frost. Mercifully, that search may come to an end on Friday. The search for a sixth win, for a bowl game. The hunt for Red December. Husker football has spent years down in the depths, desperate to find glory. The people within the prog...

Heartbreak in Madison for Nebraska football. The Huskers lost to Wisconsin 24-17 in overtime Saturday night. NU is now 5-6 with one game left to become bowl eligible.
