President Joe Biden pledged he would create a federal public option healthcare plan while far-left candidates like Sens. Bernie Sanders (D-Vermont) and Elizabeth Warren (D-Massachusetts) backed the government-run “Medicare-For-All.” But neither his recent American Families Plan proposal nor his $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan has included a federal public option.
