It has been a week since star Stanford pitcher NiJaree Canady hit the transfer portal. And, well, we’re no closer to a decision than it felt like Monday. But? To be expected. At least that’s the logic of D1 Softball associate editor Justin McLeod. Don’t expect a decision from Canady just yet. It’s going to take some time. And she has earned that right to take her time and take as many visits as she wants to figure it all out. McLeod joined the SoonerScoop Stickball crew to talk all things OU softball. And you can’t talk OU softball right now without mentioning the Canady pursuit. Canady was 24...

The fireworks occurred in the softball transfer portal Monday afternoon, felt by OU and everybody else across the country. NiJaree Canady, arguably the sport’s biggest star, hit the portal after two brilliant seasons at Stanford. Two incredibly impressive, statement-making seasons. Now that statement? Let the games begin. Canady has not publicly addressed the portal situation, but she has been active on social media in the ‘follow the follows’ game. And although last weekend it felt like OU was the clear leader, it will be a battle. Still a battle where it feels like the Sooners are sitting in...

A game-changer of a target that would send shockwaves through the college softball world. Multiple reports Saturday said Stanford star pitcher NiJaree Canady is expected to hit the transfer portal, as early as Monday. She is not in the portal as of Saturday night, but it does feel like the pape...

After dropping the first game of the Women’s College World Series on Thursday, Oklahoma State found itself in an elimination game Friday night at Devon Park. The Cowgirls faced a tall task to keep their season alive, though, going against one of the best pitchers in the country. NiJaree Canady was in the circle for Stanford, bringing a 0.76 ERA with her into the WCWS elimination matchup. Oklahoma State struggled to get the offense going with just two hits in four innings, but Kenny Gajewski said his team needs to avoid pressing while facing Canady and her 70-plus mile per hour rise ball. Try F...

And they answered the bell once more on Sunday night, when they needed to the most. Sunday night’s game was a winner-take-all Game 7. What was her men...
