Cowboys first-round pick Tyler Guyton isn’t taking any shortcuts as he prepares to take over the left tackle spot in Dallas. Ahead of OTAs, the former Sooners star opened up about the work he’s been doing to switch from right tackle, where he played at Oklahoma, to left tackle. “We’re polishing my technique, becoming a better o-lineman anyway that I can,” Guyton said. “We all have the same common goal and that’s to maximize me as a player. Everything we can possibly do to make me better is what we’re doing.” Whether Guyton plays left tackle or right tackle, he’ll have top-shelf guards to help ...

Oklahoma is nearing 25 years since its last national championship. Bob Stoops was the head coach while Josh Heupel was the starting quarterback. There have been a few opportunities for the Sooners since then but BCS national championship games or College Football Playoff appearances have fallen short. Brent Venables has been tasked with getting the program back to the promised land. Year One was not great, finishing 6-7 for Oklahoma’s first losing season since 1998. Everyone in Norman enjoyed last season much more, getting back to winning ways, and building some momentum inside the building. E...

If Cowboys first-rounder Tyler Guyton wants to kick off his career as well as some of his predecessors at left tackle, the rookie has a lot of work ahead of him this summer. Adjusting to the pace of play and the dominant forces opposing him on the defensive line will be key, and he’s working with third-round pick Cooper Beebe to acclimate as best as he can. “Most definitely (we’re leaning on each other), it’s new for both of us,” Guyton told reporters last week. “We came from the same conference. I already knew who he was and we were pretty cool before this but now that we’re together, we’re p...

Jayden Daniels will forever be No. 5 at LSU, winning a Heisman Trophy with the Tigers due to his performance during the 2023 season. He was eventually drafted by the Washington Commanders with the No. 2 overall pick, becoming the face of the franchise. Only issue for Daniels — the No. 5 was already worn by somebody on the roster. Punter Tress Way has been with the organization since 2014 and has worn the number since he was a rookie. Usually, there is some kind of cash exchange in order to get a star player a certain number. Way went in a different direction, though. He gave up the number to W...
