South Dakota Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg won’t be serving time for a car crash last year that resulted in the death of a 55-year-old pedestrian. His attorney entered no-contest pleas on Thursday to two misdemeanors related to the crash. On the night of the crash, Ravnsborg told a 911 dispatcher that he “hit something” in the road. Ravnsborg then told police that he hit a deer but discovered a man’s body upon returning to the scene the next morning. South Dakota Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg (R) is facing calls to resign, as lawmakers are in the midst of filing a resolution to “remove him from such office for his crimes or three misdemeanors in office causing the death.” Just last week, Ravnsborg was charged with careless driving, using a mobile electronic device and failing to stay in his lane.
