A new vaccine against dengue has been approved by the World Health Organization (WHO) as over 6 million cases of the mosquito-borne virus have been reported in the Americas so far this year. Dengue is transmitted to humans through the bite of an infected mosquito. It can cause flu-like symptoms and in rare cases lead to death. An independent group of experts funded by the US government has suggested that women should get screened for breast cancer every other year starting at age 40. The US Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) says lowering the age recommendation from 50 to 40 could make a difference as more and more women in their 40s are being diagnosed with breast cancer.
