NBA Week 19: Games to Watch

Week 19 of the NBA will be a short one since there will be a few days off after that All-Star Game in Utah. To those who are counting, the regular season will end after week 25. Yes, that is how fast time is flying by. Let us see what delightful games are lined up for the week.

Feb. 23: Dallas Mavericks versus San Antonio Spurs

According to coach Gregg Popovich, you can beat the Mavericks by ensuring that Luka Doncic does not score more than 50 points. That strategy must be true because Doncic scored 51 against the Spurs in their first matchup this season, and the Mavericks went on to win. So even if Popovich was joking, we still have to see what kind of scheme he has if he wants to prevent a certain someone from scoring 50 again.

Feb. 24: Phoenix Suns versus Oklahoma City Thunder

Devin Booker has already scored 49, 51, and 58 points in games for the Suns this season, while Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is averaging around 30 points per game for the Thunder. So two of the streakiest and sneakiest scorers in the league, Booker and Gilgeous-Alexander, will be on the same court when their teams play against each other in Phoenix. Now that is a game worth watching.

Feb. 25: Philadelphia 76ers versus Boston Celtics

Tyrese Maxey is receiving more attention from scouts this year than at any point in his career. The third-year guard is capable of scoring 20 points. That has to be a welcome sight for a team that already has Joel Embiid and James Harden. Now we get to see him play against Boston’s Derrick White. White, like Maxey, has been a pleasant surprise for his team and was even named Eastern Conference Player of the Week.

Feb. 26: Milwaukee Bucks versus Phoenix Suns

The Suns have loads of experience on their roster, with more than 360 games of playoff experience combined from their star players, including their new recruit Kevin Durant. Will this be enough against the Bucks? Yes, it is, especially if Durant plays. This game will be the first between the two teams this season and will be a rematch of the 2021 NBA Finals.

Feb. 26: Dallas Mavericks versus Los Angeles Lakers

Clear your schedules. If all key players are healthy, this could easily be the game of the week. LeBron James and Anthony Davis facing Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving? What can beat that? The new-look Mavericks going against the new-look Lakers should be on everyone’s mind by now. It’s a good thing that this game fell on a Sunday.
