If you're a fan of the "John Wick" saga and trivia, this game will probably appeal to you. TikTok has unveiled its latest operation aimed at luring users: TikTok Trivia. On the occasion of the release of the fourth installment of "John Wick," starring Keanu Reeves, the Chinese platform has partnered with Lionsgate to set up a live online trivia game.

Only in the United States

From February 22 to 26, 2023, users will be able to try their hand at the challenge during two sessions per day, from 5 to 6 pm (Pacific time) / 8 to 9 pm (eastern time) and from 6 to 7 pm (Pacific time) / 9 to 10 pm (Eastern time). Players will be able to compete in several rounds, in categories such as movies, sports, music, lifestyle, beauty and of course the world of "John Wick."

In order to win part of the $500,000 kitty, players will have to answer 12 questions correctly within the given time limit.

The social network has also planned special "Survival" rounds with limitless and increasingly difficult questions with the final 'survivors' sharing a prize of 100,000 dollars.

The TikTok Trivia game will only be available to American users who are at least 18 years old.

A focus on engagement during live events

US residents will be able to sign up to take part directly via the "TikTok Trivia" widget on the app's "For You" page or by going directly to the official TikTok account.

The Chinese giant seems to be increasingly putting the spotlight on its LIVE space, which allows users with at least 500 subscribers to go live on the app. A format that the platform is prioritizing for being more engaging and which enables creators to receive money in the form of gifts. TikTok has also set up partnerships with some influencers who will appear live after the TikTok Trivia sessions.

If this event proves to be a success, other sponsors may be interested in following suit, allowing for the development of more live formats on the app.

"John Wick: Chapter 4" hits cinemas March 24.
