Biden Meets With Polish President To Discuss Russia And Energy Deals

President Joe Biden held a meeting with President Andrzej Duda of Poland in Warsaw on the eve of the one-year anniversary of Russia’s brutal invasion of Ukraine. The leaders reflected on their shared efforts to support Ukraine, impose consequences on Russia, and strengthen NATO.

Biden lauded Poland’s generosity in welcoming over 1.5 million Ukrainian refugees into their communities, while also discussing the growing cooperation between the United States and Poland in the energy sector, particularly in civil nuclear energy.

The leaders also touched on the importance of democratic values that underpin the transatlantic alliance and reaffirmed their strong bilateral defense relationship.
