Realtek Semiconductor Corporation (Taiwan) and Alango Technologies, Ltd. (Israel) have announced a collaboration to provide a joint solution that delivers the Alango PersonaSound™ suite of software technologies, ported and optimized for the latest Realtek Bluetooth SoCs. This collaboration aims to address the global problem of hearing loss, which affects 1.5 billion people worldwide, with 430 million requiring rehabilitation services, according to the 2021 World Health Organization’s World Report On Hearing.
By combining the functions of True Wireless Stereo earbuds and hearing aids, Realtek and Alango will offer a reference design for consumer electronics devices, simplifying the work of device manufacturers and shortening the time and cost of delivering the solution to end-users.
Alango Technologies PersonaSound™ is a field-proven personalized hearing/voice/audio solution designed to power the coming wave of hearable devices. With this software suite users can easily custom fit and fine-tune hearing amplification within minutes using a one-time, self-administered hearing assessment. All sounds are personalized according to the user’s hearing profile, including live sounds, streamed audio, and mobile phone calls. Additional technologies, such as situational awareness, can be integrated to pass important sounds through while listening to audio, and automatically adjust the volume and spectrum of audio depending on ambient noise conditions. PersonaSound™ can be adapted to different form factors, including TWS earbuds, self-fitted over-the-counter hearing aids, and everything in between.
