Officially opened by Assistant Chief of Staff (AKS J3) Major General Dato Nur Hafiz bin Abdul Karim and TNI Operations Assistant Major General Agus Suhardi, the training is attended by 461 Malaysian Armed Forces members and 149 TNI members.

In his opening remarks, Nur Hafiz said that the Malindo joint exercise aims to enhance the ability and interoperability in conducting joint counter-terrorism operations.

"I believe that through this joint exercise, both parties will be able to share knowledge, skills, and exchange information between the Malaysian Armed Forces and TNI," said Nur Hafiz in a statement provided by the Indonesian Military Information Center (Puspen TNI) on Tuesday, March 14.

Meanwhile, Agus Suhardi stressed the need for a solid mechanism for cooperation between the Malaysian Armed Forces and TNI.
