Lea Michele’s 2-Year-Old Son Hospitalized Because Of A ‘Scary Health Issue,’ Star Misses ‘Funny Girl’ Performances

Lea Michele took to Instagram to let her fans know that she will be missing her Funny Girl lead performance because her 2-year-old son, Ever Leo Reich, has been hospitalized.

“I’m so sorry but unfortunately I will be out of @FunnyGirlBwy today. We are at the hospital with our son dealing with a scary health issue that I need to be here for,” Michele wrote in an Instagram Story on Wednesday, where she shared a picture of them in the hospital. “I’m so sorry. Please send us some love and strength,” the former Glee star said, apologizing to her fans for her absence from the evening performance.

The Broadway show also shared an update on its Instagram, announcing that “Lea Michele will be out of both the matinee and evening performance today, Wednesday, March 22,” and that she will be replaced by Julie Benko for the time being.  

Michele’s representatives and the Funny Girl team are yet to further comment on her absence.
