As part of season 15 of RuPaul’s Drag Race, the drag queens put on a stunning show of Wigloose: The Rusical about the queens overcoming a small town that tries to ban drag. The musical theater challenge was inspired by Kevin Bacon‘s Footloose, which he loved.

On his Instagram story, Bacon, 64, posted a link to the episode, writing, “Big shoutout to @rupalsdragrace’s Wigloose: the RuSical (and props to Heaven Bacon [winky face emoji] @looseyladuca). With all the recent anti-drag bills, this came at just the right time. Drag is an art and drag is a right.”

Loosey LaDuca, who played the drag version of Bacon’s character, reposted the story, saying, “Well, I’m dead.”

Bacon then reposted a video of RuPaul on March 8 where he called out political maneuvers being similar to bullying.

In the video, Mama Ru said, “‘Hey, look over there!’ — a classic distraction technique, distracting us away from the real issues that they were voted into office to focus on: jobs, healthcare, keeping our children safe from harm at their own school.”

“We know that bullies are incompetent at solving real issues,” she continued. “They look for easy targets so they can give the impression of being effective. They think our love, our light, our laughter, and our joy are signs of weakness, but they’re wrong, because that is our strength. Drag queens are the marines of the queer movement. Don’t get it twisted and don’t be distracted. Register to vote so we can get these stunt queens out of office and put some smart people with real solutions into government.”

To top it all off, Bacon posted a link to the World of Wonder’s initiative with the ACLU, the Drag Defense Fund, which works to raise money for people impacted by the legislation.
