How much time have you spent looking for the right color of concealer? Too dark or too light, it's not easy to find the ideal shade to reduce dark circles without looking cakey. But those days could now be over, since TikTok users have swapped their classic concealer for a pink version, which they say hides dark circles and puffiness while brightening eyes.

Concealer is one of TikTok users' favorite makeup products, along with blush, with no less than 3.5 billion views to its name. The #concealer hashtag groups together all manner of videos revealing tips and tricks each all more unusual -- and sometimes effective -- than the next. The latest involves adopting a new type of concealer that's pink. This beauty trick has quite a following on the Chinese social network, both among makeup enthusiasts and influencers, who are quick to praise the merits of this technique.

At first sight, this beauty trick is nothing extraordinary, but TikTokers maintain that it has changed their lives. Quite a claim. And it doesn't require any particular expertise. It's simply a matter of changing your usual concealer for a pinkish shade, and applying it around the eye area. According to the trick's advocates, it is possible to apply it alone, or over foundation or your usual concealer, or even to mix the two shades together before application. The success is such that the #pinkconcealer hashtag already has some 90 million views to date.

According to users of the social network, pink concealer -- a liquid version if possible -- helps smooth and cover the under-eye area, thus reducing dark circles, as well as moisturizing and brightening to give a healthy glow. And all with a single product. The icing on the cake is that pink is considered an inclusive shade since it suits all skin tones.

It's not the first time that dark circles, and more specifically concealer, have been the focus of attention on the Chinese social network. In 2022, two beauty tips went viral on TikTok. The first involved applying a white concealer, a Y2K throwback, for a brightening effect, while the second, called 'under eye blush,' involved replacing your usual concealer with a pink blush. As you can see, beauty tips land thick and fast and cover all variations of any given theme on Gen Z's favorite social network.
