Coach says talent isn’t an issue, but confidence might be
Nebraska football head coach Matt Rhule said Thursday that the much-maligned offensive line is stocked with ample talent. Confidence, though, might be another matter.
Speaking after the Huskers' ninth practice of spring, Rhule said the O-line is "as talented a one as I've ever been around in college football as a head coach. But are they going to believe it? Are they going to put it together?"
"The narrative is 'the O-line's terrible', 'the O-line's terrible'. They hear that a lot, so I think all those guys on the offensive line just have to play with great confidence."
He singled out Bryce Benhart as a potential NFL player. "I think with what we're doing, the way we're playing, it's going to turn Bryce loose," Rhule said.
The Huskers will have a four-day weekend before returning to the practice field Tuesday.
