EU Establishes Joint Monitoring Committee To Oversee Normalization Agreement Implementation Between Kosovo And Serbia

BRUSSELS—The European Union has established a Joint Monitoring Committee, together with Kosovo and Serbia, to oversee the implementation of the Agreement on the path to normalization between Serbia and Kosovo, and its implementation annex.

The Joint Monitoring Committee will meet regularly in Brussels and will be chaired by Miroslav Lajcak, the EU Special Representative for the Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue and other Western Balkan regional issues. Agron Bajrami, Kosovo’s ambassador in Brussels will represent Kosovo, and Chief Negotiator Petar Petkovic will represent Serbia.

The terms of reference for the committee are expected to be finalized and adopted during its first meeting, which is scheduled to take place after the next high-level meeting in Brussels on May 2.
