The latest craze among TikTok users is to glue their bangs to their forehead to help keep them in place all day long. This hack involves using false eyelash glue and already has several million views on the Chinese social network.

From micro bangs to spider bangs to curtain bangs, it's clear that bangs are one of this season's star hair inspirations, no matter what style you choose. However, it can still be difficult for some people to take the plunge, not only because a bangs blunder can be synonymous with regret, but also, and especially, because it's not always easy to keep bangs tamed and styled. This is a problem that some TikTokers have recently tackled head-on, unveiling a trick that could help keep bangs in place throughout the day without having to worry about the slightest gust of wind.

Stuck-down bangs

As surprising as it may seem, members of the Chinese social network have chosen to stick their bangs directly onto their face. How could no one possibly have thought of it before... ? Actually, it's already a technique used by many professional hairdressers to protect against the uncertainties of the weather during important ceremonies or red carpet events. In any case, TikTok users are now taking things to the next level by bringing this technique to the mainstream. And the idea seems to be going down a storm, since videos on the subject have already been seen up to six million times.

As for the trick, it's probably one of TikTok's most accessible, requiring neither great dexterity nor professional equipment. It's simply a matter of using a product that many people already have in their beauty kits: false eyelash glue. Then, just style the bangs as required, either by taming them by hand or by smoothing them with a hair dryer, then apply the false eyelash glue, either in the middle of both eyebrows or above the eyebrow ends, and then attach the bangs. That's it. You can then move your head in all directions, or face a gust of wind, and the hair will be maintained in place. Be careful not to apply the glue to your eyebrows, however.

Is glue the latest beauty essential?

This isn't the first time in recent weeks that false eyelash glue has been in the spotlight on the Chinese social network. It even seems to have become a real beauty essential, being used for anything and everything other than its primary function, in order to serve other makeup inspirations. We saw it recently with the "hot glue gun makeup" trend, which involves creating three-dimensional shapes and then sticking them on the face for a creative and playful look. If this trick first requires using a hot glue gun to make the 3D shapes, these are then applied to the face with false eyelash glue. What a way to boost the sales of this beauty product at a time when false eyelashes are no longer such a go-to item.
