Music is a key part of the TikTok experience. While users seize on certain songs to launch trends, artists take advantage of the Chinese platform to share their latest singles. Now, TikTok is launching a new tool to help users discover the best music of the moment in the form of a dedicated #NewMusic hub.

The love affair between TikTok and recording artists continues to grow. The Chinese platform has quickly become an essential ally for many singers, eager to promote their new tracks. Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith and Charlie Puth have all shared their new sounds with users of the social network, which notably helped turn these tracks into viral hits. Now, TikTok has decided to build on this power by launching a #NewMusic hub dedicated entirely to discovering new music on the platform. This is accessible by searching "New Music" on TikTok.

The hub promises to make it easier for fans to discover the hot songs of the moment, from both emerging artists and established stars. "The #NewMusic hub allows fans to discover the best new music, often before it's heard elsewhere, while providing a platform for emerging and established artists to grow their fanbases and connect with their audience," the social platform explains in a news release.

Fans will be able to discover the latest trends, discover new releases and access specially highlighted sounds. The #NewMusic hashtag already has over 19.4 billion views on the platform. For this launch, TikTok has announced a partnership with the Jonas Brothers and the singer Miguel: "It has been so cool to see people around the world making content with our music. TikTok is allowing us to connect with our fans and reach new ones in an exciting way," said the Jonas Brothers.

Paul Hourican, Global Head of Music Operations at TikTok, said: "We are thrilled to launch the #NewMusic Hub, a global discovery platform that celebrates and champions artists of all genres, from up-and-coming talent to international superstars. TikTok is already a destination for artists who want to preview their newest works, and for music fans looking to discover new music, and this new feature will give artists a new way to connect with our global community. It presents an exciting opportunity to inspire artist creativity, spark connections, and foster a diverse musical landscape that embraces the unique talents and passions of artists and fans worldwide."

This is not the first time that TikTok has launched tools for artists. The SoundOn program already offers independent artists the possibility of earning money by sharing their tracks on TikTok.
