Kevin Costner‘s estranged wife, Christine Baumgartner, refuses to leave his house even after she filed for divorce, violating their prenup.
Costner has now legally filed documents that ask the court to make Baumgartner leave his home.
According to their prenup that Baumgartner agreed to, in the case of divorce Baumgartner would have 30 days to move out of the house Costner owns after filing for divorce, which she did on May 1. The 30 days have passed, but it seems that Baumgartner has yet to make plans to move out.
Costner believes that Baumgartner is refusing to leave in an attempt for him to give her financial compensation, as she has been making “various financial demands.”
According to Costner, he gave Baumgartner funds, $1.45 million to be exact, to find a new place to live. Costner is determined to get Baumgartner out of his house and even would go so far as to give her more financial support. He already agreed to pay $30,000 per month in child support, in which Baumgartner could use the money to find another home. He additionally stated he is willing to give her up to $10,000 extra for her to use in moving costs.

According to the court documents, Costner is the sole owner of this home and the two other homes in Colorado and Los Angeles.
The home Baumgartner is occupying is located in Carpinteria, California, and is directly on the beach. It consists of 10 acres and is worth $145 million. Ocean views can be seen from the house, as it sits on top of a cliff. The views also include the Santa Barbara mountains and various islands. There are many amenities, including a private beach, a polo field and a horseback riding trail.
Costner has already been married once before to Cindy Costner. They were married from 1978 to 1994 and have three children together, Lily Costner, Annie Costner and Joe Costner.
After their divorce, Costner dated Bridget Rooney for three years and they had a son together, Liam Costner.
Costner met Baumgartner in the 90’s while he was still married to Cindy, but the two never got together until 1999. They dated for four years but then broke up due to Baumgartner wanting to have a baby with Costner, but he wasn’t sure if he wanted to become a father again. He did come around and realized that this wasn’t worth losing Baumgartner over and the two got back together.
They tied the knot in 2004 and ended up having three kids together. Their first child was Cayden Costner, which they had in May 2007. Hayes Costner, their second child, was born in February 2009. Their youngest child is Grace Costner, who was born in 2010.
Baumgartner filed for divorce from Costner in May after being with him for 18 years. She claims their split is due to “irreconcilable differences.”
Costner released a statement announcing, “It is with great sadness that circumstances beyond his control have transpired which have resulted in Mr. Costner having to participate in a dissolution of marriage action. We ask that his, Christine’s, and their children’s privacy be respected as they navigate this difficult time.”
