Anna Kendrick is a noted American actress who has been acting now for twenty-five years. Her first prominent role was in the Broadway musical High Society, and she is best known for starring in the Pitch Perfect movie franchise.

Anna Kendrick was born on August 9, 1985 (Anna Kendrick’s age: 37) in Portland, Maine to William and Janice Kendrick. Her mother was an accountant, while her father was a history teacher who’d also dabbled in finance. Kendrick is of English, Scottish, and Irish descent. Her older brother, Michael Cooke Kendrick, is also an actor who has appeared in the drama film Looking for an Echo.
Kendrick graduated from Deerling High School in 2003 and attended Bates College in Lewiston, Maine. At just twelve years old, Anna was auditioning all over New York City hoping to secure a role in theater production.

Kendrick began her acting career as a twelve-year-old girl, landing a supporting role in the 1998 Broadway musical High Society. This performance earned her a Theater World Award as well as nominations for the Tony Awards.
Kendrick made her film debut in the movie Camp, which earned her a nomination for the Independent Spirit Award for best debut performance. She has also starred in a number of other films, including the Pitch Perfect franchise (as previously mentioned), Twilight, Mr. Right and more. Additionally, Kendrick performed as the voice actor for Poppy in the original Trolls and the sequel Trolls World Tour.
In an exclusive interview with SXSW, Kendrick was asked which moment from set was most memorable to her. This is what she had to say:
“You know, it’s funny. There were so many scenes that were really wild and like nothing I’d ever filmed before, but I think like honestly getting to do an emotional scene with** Jake [Johnson]**is such a treat. The scene in *rinking Buddies*where we’re being really raw and vulnerable with each other was like such an amazing day and I’ll remember that day forever. And in this, it’s kind of a similar thing where like he’s such a talented actor and he kind of, you know, is known for being a comic actor, but I really just love watching him be real and honest and vulnerable and he’s just so talented.”
When asked if she’d survive in a death game like the one in the movie Self Reliance, Kendrick didn’t appear too optimistic about it.
“I would do very badly in a game like this,” Kendrick admitted. “I get very easily distracted so if I was being hunted by snipers, I would be a very easy target.”
Kendrick is known to play likable, yet awkward characters and possesses a sarcastic sense of humor. She can often be seen singing in her performances.

Kendrick currently lives in Los Angeles, California. She has dated several men in the past but has not yet found someone to settle down with.
Reflecting on her recent role in the new psychological thriller/drama Alice, Darling, Kendrick disclosed how she felt the need to perform in this role due to the great similarities that were shared between her and the main character, Alice, who finds herself trapped in an abusive relationship. Kendrick’s rep sent it to her because he had a good idea of what Kendrick had been going through at the time and felt that it might speak to her.
Kendrick reflected upon her own abusive relationship that she’d just recently gotten out of. While she made sure not to reveal any names, she emphasized the immense obstacles she’d faced in her relationship, describing the process of coming to accept the truth as the “hardest task” in her life.
Kendrick was with her ex for six years when she noticed unusual behaviors from her partner. She’d even gone on to confide in her brother, at one point telling him that she felt like she was living with a stranger. In an attempt to try to make sense of the dire situation, Kendrick even pondered whether or not a brain tumor might have been involved. Whenever she’d tried to address an issue, it would escalate into him screaming at her, as she found herself curled into a tight ball. The frequency with which these fights occurred had ultimately left her thinking that she had been at fault, creating a highly unsafe environment that resulted in a significant blow to her self-esteem and sense of sell-worth. Eventually, she’d also discovered that her ex had developed feelings for someone else.
Kendrick admits she should have left the relationship sooner, as her toxic relationship with her ex ultimately left her shattered. She eventually did come to prioritize her own mental well-being, seeking help from therapists and even exploring new hobbies such as meditation in an attempt to help calm her mind. At the end of the day, Kendrick told the public how the experience brought her an incredible amount of growth and healing.
