Death From Above Wins People's Choice Award at DevGAMM

Lesser Evil proudly announces that its first-ever game, Death From Above, won the People’s Choice Award at DevGAMM in Vilnius, Lithuania. This accolade is remarkable validation of the work of our creative team, but it is all the more important for being voted for by the show attendees – we are honored and delighted by this marvelous award.

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank the show’s organizers, attendees, and everyone who voted for us. It means so much to our small team to receive a trophy like this.

Last week we were able to make the first donation to our charity partners – splitting €7,500 between our key charities Army of Drones and Come Back Alive, as well as a €2,500 special donation to Rescue Now to help the victims of the Russian attack on the Nova Kakhovka Dam. This is why we’re doing this – to raise awareness and support for the people of Ukraine.

We dream of the day that this is no longer necessary. Until then, we support them in their fight for freedom.

“Since releasing Death From Above into Early Access on Steam on May 25th, the Lesser Evil team has been overwhelmed with the response from our fans and supporters,” said Lesser Evil CEO Hendrik Lesser.

“Our 98% positive Steam review rating is a testament to the incredible reception for this project, but receiving an award like this, especially coming from an event with its roots in Ukraine, is a truly touching achievement. We will continue to do everything we can to support the people of Ukraine in defending their homeland against Russian aggression and this sort of recognition can only help us to achieve that goal.”

Death From Above is available on Steam in Early Access for $9.99/€9.75/£8.50. Developed by Rockodile in Finland and Octobear Knights in Ukraine, the game will also be a part of the Ukrainian Games Festival on Steam from August 18 to 24, 2023.

About our charity partners

“Come Back Alive” is the biggest Foundation providing competent assistance to Ukrainian defenders since 2014. Their goal is to preserve the lives of Ukrainian defenders in the face of an invading force by purchasing the necessary equipment and delivering it to the frontlines so that they can save civilian lives. The foundation supplies thermal imaging devices, generators, radios, GPS navigators, UAVs, cars, body armor, and protective, communication, and intelligence equipment. The foundation’s instructors train the military in controlling drones, mine safety, and tactical medicine.

“Army of Drones” is a joint comprehensive project of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the State Special Communications Service, the Ministry of Digital Transformation, and the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, which organizes and conducts procurement of UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles), supplies them to the military, trains operators to fly drones and supports Ukrainian startups and manufacturers in the field of UAVs to develop the military-tech sector in Ukraine

Our admiration drove the choice of these charities for their exceptional work in defending the people of Ukraine with non-aggressive methods. Their dedication to the Ukrainian cause has touched and saved countless lives, making a tangible difference in a country under attack from a government rooted in oppression and expansion.

“Rescue Now” is a humanitarian organization that provides immediate relief and long-term solutions to war-affected people.

While the Ukrainian military is defending our freedom, civilians are stranded in war zones with no chance to leave their hometowns due to constant bombings and shootings. We have an opportunity and desire to help them. But to continue doing so, we need your support.
