Georgia State Election Board Finds No Evidence Of Voter Fraud In 2020 Election

WASHINGTON, DC - FEBRUARY 29: U.S. President Donald Trump pauses during a news conference at the James Brady Press Briefing Room at the White House February 29, 2020 in Washington, DC. Department of Health in Washington State has reported the...

The State Elections Board in Georgia announced that they found no evidence of any election fraud in 2020 at State Farm Arena in Atlanta. The closure of this investigation comes after years of former President Donald Trump pointing to the arena as the center of alleged fraud.

Following his defeat in the 2020 presidential election against Joe Biden, Trump launched a nationwide conspiracy that claimed the election was stolen from him. For almost three years, he and his allies have relentlessly shamed state and federal governments for voter fraud, despite evidence that repeatedly suggested that the election was fair.

The investigation into State Farm Arena was conducted by Secretary of State investigators and FBI agents.

In a statement made by Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, he said “We are glad the State Election Board finally put this issue to rest. False claims and knowingly false allegations made against these election workers have done tremendous harm.”

The workers he is referencing are Ruby Freeman and her daughter, Shaye Moss. They were the targets of the conspiracy that State Farm Arena was responsible for incorrectly counting ballots in 2020.

“Through the course of the investigation,” Raffensperger said, “‘three law enforcement agencies reviewed the entire unedited video of footage of the events in question surrounding [the two election workers] at State Farm Arena,’ and additionally reviewed social media posts allegedly made by Fulton County election workers stating they engaged in election fraud… Ultimately, ‘all allegations made against [the two election workers] were unsubstantiated and found to have no merit.'”

In his statement, Raffensperger, on behalf of State Elect Board Member Ed Lindsey, also requested an apology letter be sent to Freeman and Moss.

While this specific investigation has been closed, Trump and his allies are still pushing theories that the 2020 election was stolen, and Trump is using these claims as a base for his campaign for the 2024 race.
