The Ford Ranger Raptor is a massive hit, with immense off-road capability, undeniable good looks, and exquisite power to boot. But, while the U.S. gets the Ford Bronco Raptor, Europe and Australia do not, and Ford doesn’t show any signs of wanting to make a Ford Everest Raptor, even as it shares an architecture with both the Ranger and Bronco. Even so, that won’t stop an aftermarket shop from creating one themselves.
Ford Everest Raptor Build: Details
Shana E-sport in Chon Buri, Thailand is the source of this exquisite Ford Everest Raptor build. According to The Drive, the company built this Everest to have flared fenders, a lifted ride height, a wider track more closely resembling that of an F-150 Raptor R, more aggressive all-terrain tires, a Raptor R front end, and plenty of decals to ensure it stands out in a sea of other midsize Everest SUVs. Unfortunately, this vehicle is only a Raptor in appearance, and while it looks tough, it doesn’t have any upgrades to take it to another level outside of the lift and larger tires. It doesn’t have Fox Live Valve suspension, as seen in all of the proper Raptors available, which is as vital for the formula as wide fenders and those beefy tires.
That means the Ford Everest Raptor build can’t run wide-open across the desert, soaking up every bounce as it makes its way over the dunes, as we’ve continuously seen with the Baja machines built by Ford Performance. That said, despite not having the capability, it has the looks, and power is also essential, though there’s no information on the powertrain. The Everest typically features a 2.0-liter twin-turbocharged four-cylinder turbodiesel or an optional 3.0-liter V6 turbodiesel engine. Both are mated to a ten-speed automatic transmission with all-wheel drive and a two-speed transfer case. This means the vehicle is still capable off-road, just not at high speeds.
Though, an upgrade to the suspension should be easy if someone decides to purchase one of these and upgrade its capability to Raptor standards. It’s also worth noting that this is one of many shops in Thailand turning different Fords into Raptor lookalikes. There’s another shop that makes midsize Ranger pickups closer resemble their full-size F-150 brother, or even Super Duty‘s if that’s more your style. Since Thai enthusiasts don’t have the same trucks we do, they have to get crafty, and honestly, they’re doing a great job.
