Japan logs trade surplus of 43 billion yen in June

Japan posted a trade surplus of 43 billion yen ($300 million) in June, returning to the black for the first time in nearly two years, government data showed Thursday.

Exports gained 1.5 percent while imports dropped 12.9 percent, both in value terms.

For the six months of 2023, Japan ran a trade deficit of 6.96 trillion yen, the Finance Ministry said.
