PAXPOWER SILVERADO ZR2 IS A SUPERCHARGED V8 ALTERNATIVE TO RAM TRX AND RAPTOR R

PaxPower has finally built the ultimate version of the Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 capable of battling the Ford F-150 Raptor R and Ram 1500 TRX. Though Chevrolet focuses more on the rock-crawling aspects of off-roading with its ZR2 trucks, without any intention of entering the Baja space despite having a desert racer, PaxPower has kindly built an alternative for customers to get ahold of.

What Is The PaxPower Chevrolet Silverado ZR2?

The PaxPower upgrades to the new Chevrolet Silverado 1500 ZR2 are all-encompassing. Starting with the bodywork, the truck receives flared arches 4 inches wider than the standard fenders. From there, the company turned its attention to the truck’s suspension and installed longer steel upper- and lower control arms, all of which lift the truck 2 inches over the stock truck. The suspension changes result in 12 inches of front travel and an unspecified amount of additional rear travel, though it’s likely significant considering that this package has been dubbed the Jackal.

The PaxPower Silverado ZR2, like other Jackal models produced by the company, rides on a set of 17-inch off-road wheels with 35×12.5 or 37×12.5-inch tires. Of course, the PaxPower ZR2 can only be competitive with the Ram TRX and Raptor R with some modifications to the engine, and though they don’t pass the 700 horsepower mark, they get pretty close. With a 3.0-liter Whipple supercharger added to the 6.2-liter V8 engine with six psi of boost, the power output increases from the standard 420 hp to 650. As for torque, that jumps from 460 lb-ft to 650 lb-ft. Additionally, owners will have peace of mind with having a modified engine as the supercharger comes with a 3-year / 36,000-mile warranty.

As far as pricing for this beast of a Chevrolet Silverado ZR2, with all the visual updates, new off-road components, and Borla exhaust, everything adds up to $19,950 on top of the cost of the ZR2; if you want the supercharger, that’ll add $15,450 to the overall price. But, considering that a fully-upgraded Jackal ZR2 is around $105,000, that’s not a horrible price compared to the $107,000 Ford F-150 Raptor R.
