League of Legends has been here for a long while, still, players are constantly trying to research and improve their gameplay in the game because it has a limitless skill ceiling. One of the topics that is often talked about in League of Legends is team fighting. In most cases, players would favour Champions that have a high team fighting potential in high-ranked matches.

In this article, we will be diving into 8 of the best Champions that excel in team fights. These Champions can easily change the tides of any huge battles and give your team a strong tempo. Also, if you are a League of Legends starter, you’ll be locked out of some Champions. You can get around this by purchasing these characters by topping up using Riot Points Gift Card from OffGamers here!

Now that we’ve got that out of the way, let’s get started!

1. Ahri

When it comes to specialisation, Ahri is extremely potent with her high burst damage. During team fights, she can easily nuke out Supports giving her team a numerical advantage early. Her Fox Fire ability is also very annoying to deal with during drawn-out battles through consistent damage, hitting multiple targets.

Aside from damage, Ahri is also versatile in terms of control. The Charm skill allows her to charm and control an enemy which is usually placed on the enemy’s core Champion. During team fights, this could come in clutch because it severely reduces their damage output.

2. Sejuani

Sejuani is a team fight disruptor and can mess up the enemy's tempo during these huge fights. Using Artic Assault, she can barge into any losing battle and overturn any deficit. That way, she can cancel a lot of enemy skills or even stop them from jumping in if you can time it correctly.

Her Ultimate, Glacial Prison is super deadly in controlling fights. Having a decent nuke and crowd-control as an AOE spell can allow her to set up for her allies’ spells. Glacial Prison can be used on two occasions—chase fleeing enemies or as a form of a team fight initiator.

3. Galio

If you are looking for a tanky and unkillable Champion to ruin your enemy’s team fights, Galio’s your man. Taking down Galio is one heck of a chore because he is designed to absorb damage which indirectly makes him a dedicated tanker for fights.

Besides being tanky with his shield, Galio also has mobility to boot. Justice Punch is another charge-type attack that knocks up enemies, giving your allies a vision of the target. Just imagine, having a tank just bolting up and down as the enemies try to take him down. It will be a hassle for them and a distraction for your hard hitters to safely do damage.

4. Brand

Brand is famously known for his lane dominance but his team fight potential is actually pretty powerful as well! This is largely due to his high AOE damage output which can wipe out enemies if used at the right time.

Of course, this will require some experience, especially when using his first skill, Blaze. The scaling for this ability is very good due to its percentage-based damage. During the late game, this move will hurt a lot.

As for his Ultimate, Pyroclasm, he will launch a blazing fireball that bounces between enemy targets. It’s super powerful and if the enemies are clumped together, they’ll most likely be going down in flames.

5. Diana

You might think that Diana shouldn’t be on the list because she lacks AOE spells that can change a team fight. While it may be true that she doesn’t have great AOE potential like Brand, she excels in taking out an enemy quickly and getting out of team fights. If she is able to do this consistently, you’ll subconsciously notice the tides turning in your team’s favour.

The Lunar Rush ability combined with Pale Cascade can be brutal, especially against squishy Champions. With Diana, you will need to be on the move all the time during team fights. Try not to stay too long in battle. Once you knock someone out, immediately look to escape and wait for your skills to come off cooldown.

6. Aphelios

We should all be thanking the developers for making Aphelios difficult to use because if not, he can demolish team fights with his absurd skill set.

Aphelios is truly a champion of versatility through his arsenal of weapons that can do serious damage during large encounters. He deals large chunks of damage and slows enemies as well. Still, his nerf is that players will need to study him carefully if they want to use him effectively.

Judging by his skills, Aphelios has arguably the highest team fighting potential when used by the right hands. He needs a lot of experimenting but once you understand the Champion inside and out, you’ll almost be able to dictate most team fights.

7. Yone

Boasting mobility, damage and survivability, Yone is an all-rounder and a team fight menace, exceptionally so if the ones on the receiving end do not know how the Champion works.

Similar to Diana, Yone's excellence in going in and out of team fights makes him a silent killer. His Soul Unbound ability can cause huge confusion at lower ranks because when he is in his Spirit Form, newbies don’t know how to handle him.

Capitalising on this, Yone players will unleash either his Spirit Cleave or Mortal Steel skills to decapitate his opponents.

8. Amumu

Amumu is a minimal effort, maximum result kind of Champion, notably during team fights. Just by being in the battle, he is an annoyance. His abilities, Tantrum and Despair are amazing during team fights, capable of hitting multiple enemies in a short span of time.

To top it off, his final skill, Curse of the Sad Mummy is a very powerful crowd-control AOE skill. Enemies caught within this spell’s radius will be knocked down and stunned for a good amount of time. This is the perfect template for other Champions to follow up with other devastating high-damage spells.

All in all, Amumu is a great team fight initiator and he always wants to be at the forefront of it given his capabilities of taking damage and controlling enemies.

Ending Thoughts

Frankly speaking, any Champion that is paired and used optimally can do well during team fights. However, the eight that we’ve just mentioned are exceptional on their own and they are most of the time picked because of their team fighting potential. So, if you have a lineup that enjoys picking fights, these Champions will complement the draft well.
