On August 20th, in addition to a 100-minute special performance where you can fully enjoy traditional Japanese performing arts, we have prepared a valuable workshop where you can learn from the performers in each field!
Special performances: - Each genre of Kabuki, Bunraku, Nohgaku, Engei, Kumiodori, Opera, Ballet, and Drama will be performed continuously for about 10 minutes. (performance time 100 minutes)
Registered as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage! Please choose the workshop from 4 genres!
The workshop is a traditional performing art that represents Japan, and we have prepared four genres that are registered as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.
You can choose and experience one of the four genres of Kabuki, Bunraku, Nohgaku and Kumiodori.
kabuki
Kabuki is a traditional popular theater that uses music and dance, and there is a tradition that only male actors perform. The workshop is open to all men and women.
Bunraku
Bunraku is a comprehensive art that combines recitation, shamisen, and ningyo joruri.
Nohgaku
Noh is a highly sophisticated masked drama, and is one of Japan's representative classical performing arts that has refined its own style over its history of over 600 years.
Kumiodori
Kumiodori is a traditional Okinawan dance performance. It consists of dialogue, music, and gestures, and incorporates elements of Yamato performing arts and Chinese performing arts.
