The running game was a focus of attention after Thursday morning's Nebraska football practice, the fourth of preseason camp.
Position coach E.J. Barthel spoke of instilling a "lion mentality" in the running backs. "Lion's going to hunt. If he doesn't kill, he doesn't eat. That's the reality of how we want to run the football. Everything we do needs to be with physical intent."
Offensive coordinator Marcus Satterfield indicated several backs are likely to share the load in the run game.
“The preference is to have Bo Jackson, but you know there’s not a lot of Bo Jacksons out there. So we’ve got a room full of really talented guys that do a lot of different things. ... It's going to take more than just one this year for us to be successful.”
Also speaking to the media were running backs Gabe Ervin and Rahmir Johnson, center Ben Scott, and tight end Nate Boerkircher. Scroll down for all the coverage and video. Asterisk indicates item may require a subscription. Refresh this page for the latest additions. | HuskerMax discussion
