Mets right-hander Kodai Senga (10-7) suffered his seventh loss after striking out 10 and allowing two runs on four hits in 6-2/3 innings at Citi Field.
Senga walked Ohtani twice while allowing a third-inning double to the Japanese compatriot.
Patrick Sandoval (7-10) threw six innings of one-run ball for the Angels.
In other action, San Diego Padres right-hander Yu Darvish (8-10) gave up five runs in four innings of work in a 7-3 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers.
