[The National Museum of Art, Osaka] Completely underground museum, which is rare in the world
The National Museum of Art, Osaka opened in 1977. The Expo Museum, which was built for the Japan World Exposition in 1970, was used as the museum, but due to the deterioration of the facilities and other reasons, it was relocated to a completely underground museum in Nakanoshima, Osaka in 2004. The exterior, which was designed by architect Cesar Pelli and expresses the "vitality of bamboo," is a must-see piece of art. It is an unusual building where the entire museum is underground.
