Kathy Griffin shocked the internet this week by posting a video to her YouTube channel depicting her lip tattoo procedure.
The 62-year-old actress and comedian allowed fans to watch as she underwent the lip-blushing process and was confident in showing off her new lips immediately after walking out of the doctor’s office.
The video included reactions from her friends and family, including actress Kristen Johnston, who exclaimed, “What did you do? That’s not real!”
Griffin also shared plans to get her eyebrows microbladed in the near future. She ended the segment by showing viewers her healed lips, which looked much more natural.
Fans were quick to criticize Griffin for her decision, though many acknowledged that the procedure was worth it in the end.
“I was scared for you at first, but the end result looks amazing! You look beautiful, Kathy,” commented on YouTube user.
Griffin’s cosmetic procedure comes after she underwent vocal cord surgery in June to fix issues that arose when an oncologist removed half of her lung in 2021.

After a year-long battle with lung cancer, the comedian is currently in remission.
