ECD's LT1 Defender Brings Powerful Performance to High-Adrenaline Adventure Sports

ECD Auto Design (ECD), the world’s largest Land Rover restoration company specializing in custom luxury builds today unleashes Project Catamount, a bespoke Defender 110 outfitted for adventure sports – from kayaking to kitesurfing – across America’s northeast. A mighty presence on dirt roads and ski slopes, this LT1-powered Defender delivers modern performance with a classic vintage style.

“Project Catamount is kitted out in nearly every update an adventure sports enthusiast could want. When clients know what they want and how they’ll use the offroader, our expert team advises them on the possibilities to satisfy even their most wild ideas,” said Elliot Humble, CTO and co-founder of ECD.

Right at home on the trails, Project Catamount is an Arles Blue beast perfectly equipped for any sport the driver desires. Decked out with matching blue ski rack and bike racks mounted to the rear, four Hella LED spotlights in the front and two LED work lights in the back, a red Hi-Lift heavy duty jack and a winch, this older Defender is primed for thrilling stunts on mountains and beaches alike. Underneath, the Project Catamount sits on 16-inch wheels painted Chawton White to match the custom build’s roof and offset the silver hardware – effortlessly combining historic Land Rover colors with world-class quality.

Nods to the original Defender’s history continue inside with vintage gauges – but the resemblance ends there. The duo-tone tan dashboard, wooden Evander steering wheel and heated front seats wrapped in premium Italian leather create a luxurious resting spot after a day full of action-packed escapades with the whole family. Project Catamount has room for eight to tag along, with three backrow seats and four inward-facing jump seats in matching leather, ensuring everyone rides in complete comfort. Accents like English Oak teakwood flooring in the load area, touchscreen infotainment, wireless charging and Wifi make for adventure sports-filled days like no other.
