Wide receiver Billy Kemp IV didn't have a catch in the season opener. That needs to change Saturday against Colorado, Nebraska football offensive coordinator Marcus Satterfield said Wednesday.
Satterfield said the coaches needs to find a way to get the ball to the transfer wide receiver from Virginia. Plans were drawn up during halftime last week against Minnesota to do just that, but "we didn't get it done," Satterfield said. "The ball didn't get to him, so that's something that we've got to do this week. ... He's too valuable of a playmaker. Not just a receiver. He has to have that ball in his hands, whatever it takes to get it in there."
Also speaking during Wednesday's pre-practice press conference were defensive backs coach Evan Cooper, defensive lineman Blaise Gunnerson and quarterback Jeff Sims.
Reflecting on his three-interception night against Minnesota, Sims said, "You've got to come through when the team needs you, and that's something I didn't do. That kind of stuck with me."
