After rocking the Diablo 4 Sanctuary, Megan Fox is now arriving in Mortal Kombat 1 as Nitara, the original Vampir from 2002.
Mortal Kombat 1 is releasing soon, but leakers have already dug out thefull roster, sharing it with the world. Amid the chaos, NetherRealm Studios has dropped another bombshell, revealing Megan Fox as Nitara’s voice and inspiration behind the grey Vampire.
Nitara debuted in 2002 in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance. Since then, the Vampire has been under the radar. Now, she’s returning as a grey character, teetering on a moral line while trying to protect her kind from the Outworld.
In the trailer, Nitara can be seen tearing out hearts, beating the mercenaries to a pulp, and alluding to eating dead bodies. For “whatever reason,” Megan Fox thinks she resonates with the Vampire.
“She’s evil, but she’s also good. She’s trying to save her people. I really like her. She’s a vampire, which obviously resonates for whatever reason.” Megan Fox said.
Nitara returns to Mortal Kombat 1
Nitara, at the core, is an evil character, but she has a valid purpose: to separate her people from the Outworld. She’s willing to walk over the line dividing evil from good to do that. While Nitara’s return itself was enough to set the FGC ablaze, fans are excited that Megan Fox is voicing her.
According to Jennifer’s Body star, she’s not only lending her voice, but Nitara is actually similar to her. Only playing her in the game will tell how similar Nitara is to Megan’s character in Jennifer’s body or her real Vampire-isque persona.
Mortal Kombat 1 releases worldwide on September 19 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Those with early access can enter the Outworld on September 14, 5 days before the official release.
