On Saturday, Joe Jonas shed a tear as he publicly confirmed his divorce from actress Sophie Turner, which the musician filed on September 5 in Miami-Dade County court. In court documents, the singer described the marriage as “irretrievably broken.”
Joe, alongside his brothers Nick and Kevin Jonas, are currently on tour titled, The Tour. Ahead of the band’s performance of “Hesitate,” a song inspired by Turner, Joe spoke to the audience at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.
“It’s been a crazy week. I just want to say, if you don’t hear it from these lips, don’t believe it. Ok?” Joe emphasized. “Thank you, everyone, for the love and support to me and my family. I love you guys.”
Joe became emotional while performing the song, shedding a single tear. This is his second time acknowledging the public divorce, the first being a joint statement with Turner.
“After four wonderful years of marriage, we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage,” the estranged couple lamented. “There are many speculative narratives as to why but, truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children.”
The former couple began dating in 2016 and later married at a wedding chapel in Los Angeles in May 2019. They share two children.
